Why Participate in the Hopkins Undergraduate Summer Training and Research Program (USTAR)

Students will:

  • Gain experience by working with a faculty mentor and graduate students on a research project
  • Participate in a 1O week paid research internship at the distinguished Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Application Opens: October 24, 2024

Application Closes: January 10, 2025

Recommendations & Transcripts: January 10, 2025

Acceptance Notifications: March 14, 2025

Student Decisions Due: March 28, 2025

Program Dates: June 2 – August 1, 2025

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Currently enrolled in their sophomore year

2. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0

3. Major in MSTEM areas: biology, chemistry, mathematics, biochemistry, neuroscience, or other life sciences

4. Must be a US citizen or Permanent resident
