Welcome to the Hopkins Undergraduate Summer Training and Research (USTAR) Program

The Hopkins USTAR Program is a two-summer, mentor-guided research training experience for undergraduate students who are in Medicine, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (MSTEM) fields to engage in aging research, including Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias (ADRD). Selected students are matched with a mentor based on their research interests. Throughout their time at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, they worked with their mentors to enrich their understanding of aging research, particularly health disparities, minority aging, and ADRO. In addition, students participate in mentoring workshops, professional development seminars, and other lecture series that develop their competencies in science, research presentations, professionalism, and communication skills.
